Camp Rotation:
Camp Wired Together

Camp Wired Together is a family camp that is held at Children's Harbor at Lake Martin. This camp is for families and children with congenital heart defects/disease. During this camp, Kaylie (another dietetic intern) and I conducted a presentation, completed nutrition assessments, conducted a trail mix activity with a handout, and created personalized meal plans for children and families. This rotation was so rewarding and taught me so much about nutrition for children with heart disease and how adequate nutrients can affect their health outcomes, but also exposed me to an area of dietetics I have not seen before.
