Community Rotation:
WIC Columbus

My community rotation was in Women, Infants, and Children in Columbus, Georgia. WIC is a supplemental nutrition program that provides supplemental food, breastfeeding resources, and nutrition education to women and children who are in need. This rotation taught me so much about infant, children, and pregnant/breastfeeding/postpartum nutrition. I participated in one on one nutrition counseling sessions and completed flow charts, referral summaries, and even contributed to a grant for more funding for WIC On Wheels.
